Pioneer Valley Roller Derby Takes On Wilkes-Barre In Double Header Bout In Enfield (Change of Venue)
Enfield - The Pioneer Valley Roller Derby will muscle its way to Enfield Dek and Roller Hockey Park, at 101 North Road, on Saturday, April 19 at 7:00 PM. After months of traveling the Northeast, The Western Mass Destruction (ladies team) and The Dirty Dozen (men's team) are glad to be back to play for the home crowds.
PVRD is celebrating its second year of roller derby with a double header bout against The Wilkes-Barre Scream Queens and Death Kings. Period one will consist of PVRD's Dirty Dozen battling it out against the Death Kings for twenty minutes. In the second period, the Western Mass Destruction will take on the Scream Queens. Each team will play two periods, giving the audience more than a solid hour of action packed unpredictable outcomes.

The teams are made up of players from across the Pioneer Valley. There are no two derby players alike. PVRD is the first league in the county to bring back men's roller derby. The April 19 bout will be the first time in more than two decades that roller derby will be played in Northern Connecticut. Roller derby is a full contact sport that often leads to trips to the emergency room.
