The Bunker hosts area leagues for scrimmage firsts
01/17/2010
Pioneer Valley Roller Derby was honored to play host to neighboring leagues when their planned scrimmage location bumped them for a birthday party.
Central Mass Roller Derby's ladies (CMRD) squared off against the Connecticut Roller Girl's Yankee Brutals in CMRD's first interleague scrimmage.
Both teams boast a mix of experienced and new skaters and the referee
and officials' squad also trained a number of new people in positions
around the track. With officials from Pioneer Valley Roller Derby,
Central Mass, Connecticut, Providence, and Elm City (Keene, NH), the
scrimmage was fully staffed for this full 60 minute scrimmage.
Scrimmaging at PVRD's Bunker provided a trial run for the upcoming
Men's Derby Conference to be held there March 27-28th. Pioneer Valley's
flat track roller derby in Northampton is bringing hundreds of skaters
and thousands of fans into the area this year. Looking forward to
seeing you this 2010 season.
