Do you have the passion and drive to be part of the fastest growing sport right here in the Pioneer Valley of Massachusetts? We have a home for you, whether it's playing on one of our teams, being a skating or non-skating official, or carrying out the many jobs it takes to produce the finest, most fun sport around.
PVRD recruits new skaters and officials several times a year. All skating experience levels are welcome, whether you've been skating for years or never skated before. You can learn as you go, but you do need to put in the effort to learn and improve through vigorous training. Even if you have years of roller skating experience, unless you have played or officiated roller derby before, you will still need to train hard before you can play.
If skating's not for you, you can still be involved with the league! Become an NSO (non-skating official) or volunteer.
Prospective members must be at least 18 years of age and have regular transportation to/from practice sessions.

Why join roller derby?
Derby was, and will always be, one of the best experiences of my life . . . I had a ton of fun, met a lot of people, and made some fantastic friends who've stuck with me even after I left the derby world. I highly recommend it—try skating, try reffing, try being an NSO. You'll never regret it. —Calico Jack Wreckem

Transfer to Pioneer Valley Roller Derby
If you currently play or have played derby elsewhere and are moving to the Pioneer Valley, contact us for more information about transferring to PVRD: firstname.lastname@example.org
Please include in your email how long it's been since you last skated, your derby name (if you have one), and what league you skate(d) with.
We do have a brief probationary period prior to allowing a new member to scrimmage, longer if it's been a while since the skater was last active with derby.
We reach out to each prospective transfer skater's previous league to hear from their coach or captain to gauge existing derby experience and skill. If the league cannot be reached after reasonable attempts, the transfer skater will be treated as a brand new recruit.
