Pioneer Valley Roller Derby isn't just an amateur derby club—we're a family.
We were founded in 2006 and have both women's and men's divisions. As you'd expect from the Valley, we support gender equality. We've been working to change the derby world by promoting equality while focusing on athleticism and sporting competition.
It is the goal of Pioneer Valley Roller Derby to organize and promote Men's and Women's Flat Track Roller Derby in Western Massachusetts. By establishing teams to compete both amongst ourselves and with other leagues, we strive to foster the skill and athleticism of Flat Track Roller Derby. We wish to advance the sport by setting a precedent for inclusion of anyone and everyone who wishes to play.
Where to find us...
- Practice - we practice several evenings a week at our own facility in Northampton called The Bunker.
- Bouts - we play bouts in and around the Northampton area. Our bouting season typically runs from April to September. See you on the flat track!
- In and around the community - we love supporting local causes. We volunteer at such events as the annual Hot Chocolate Run for Safe Passage, Monte's March for the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts, and the Relay for Life for the American Cancer Society. In addition, all of our proceeds from halftime "wheel roll" (think "chuck-a-puck") activities at home bouts go to local charities.
