Pioneer Valley Roller Derby, Inc. (PVRD) is an amateur athletic non-profit organization established in early 2006 with the mission to organize, promote, and advance the sport of flat track roller derby in and beyond Western Massachusetts. PVRD has been entirely member-owned and operated since day one, overseen by an elected Board of Directors.
We were the first flat track roller derby league to offer both women's and men's teams, and also the first league to offer an all- and no-gender team. For over a decade, we've been working to set a precedent for inclusion while fostering athleticism and sporting competition.

Who We Are
PVRD has men's, women's, and all-/no-gender divisions, as well as a junior program for youth aged 13-17, and an officiating crew—in total, over 70 members strong. We are all ages, sizes, genders, and backgrounds. We have organized, promoted, and skated in games in numerous local venues, in addition to participating in games and scrimmages around New England, up and down the East Coast, as far north as Ottawa, and as far west as Las Vegas.
We practice several times a week at our own private facility in the Florence section of Northampton, MA.
We love supporting local causes. We volunteer at such events as the annual Hot Chocolate Run for Safe Passage, Monte's March for the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts, and the Relay for Life for the American Cancer Society (for which our teams have raised over $25,000). In addition, all of our proceeds from halftime "wheel roll" (think "chuck-a-puck") activities at home bouts go to local charities.
